The Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) Grant

The grant lists four objectives, briefly stated below:
1. Enhance the Farmers Market with new location, equipment and services.. 2. Do outreach to producers to increase vendor participation in the Farmers Market 3. Do outreach to shoppers to increase customer attendance at the Farmers Market 4. Discover a way to keep the enhanced systems going beyond the 2 years of the grant money support. |

The FMPP grant period has come to a close as of December 2017. Here are the results of our two-year project, on both customer counts, and total food sales, for 2015, 2016 and 2017. The orange color shows where we started: 2015 numbers collected for the month of August 2015. The Market schedule in 2015 included Saturdays for about 14 weeks, though only 4 weeks are here shown. 2016 numbers are shown in green, and 2017 in blue. As you can see, the local Food Movement is alive and well in Burkesville, Kentucky!
The grant was funded to pay all expenses for equipment and advertising, and hire a part-time Market Coordinator to accomplish the 4 objectives via a work plan, which is spelled out as a to-do list for each objective.
