The Farmers Market of Cumberland County Local Food Initiative includes funding for an advertising campaign, using newspaper, radio, social media, signs, posters, and flyers.

Objective 3: The project will develop and implement a marketing plan to advertise and promote the Farmers Market to local consumers.

The work plan (to-do-list) includes the following items in red.
  • Create a logo for the Farmers Market of Cumberland County

  • Write and record radio ads to advertise the Farmers Market and the value of buying local food

I found out it works best to write the ad and email it to Pam at WKYR, and then they record the ad themselves.!  Here is one of many weekly ads to download and listen to.
  • Keep a blog on the website and publish some of these as articles in the Cumberland County News

  • Publicize Farmers Market of Cumberland County and any local food on Facebook
  • Do cooking demonstrations, using local ingredients.

  • Create other ads to run in the Cumberland County News

This ad ran in the local paper all 2016 season . . .

During 2017 the ad was usually focused on the Double Dollars program.

  • Create weekly flyers on what to anticipate at the Farmers Market and post online and as printed items around the county.
Vendors tell the Market Coordinator what they expect to bring next Saturday to Market  in time for her to include these items on a poster that was refreshed every week.

  • Create a poster to use at the Dale Hollow Lake Resorts
  • At the Market, have green smoothie demos
